Angel Underwriting is committed to reducing the impact of our business on the environment. In addition to improving business efficiency and reducing paper usage, we have also pledged to donate £1 to Climate Care for every policy that we underwrite to help fund their work. The money we donate will help offset carbon emissions created as a result of our operations.
Angel will donate £1 to Climate Care for every policy that we issue. In future we will continue to email you the policy documentation when a risk is bound - but we will only issue a paper copy if you specifically request it. You can do this by answering the question on the Click-to-Bind function on the Quick Quote system.
Climate Care was set up in 1998 as a non-profit organisation dedicated to reducing global warming. Funds raised by companies such as Angel Underwriting are used to combat climate change through offsetting. For every £7.50 that Angel donate, Climate Care will offset one tonne of carbon dioxide. This equates to less than eight policies underwritten! This will be done through carbon offset projects such as:
- Forest Restoration - increasing the number of trees reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which in turn reduces global warming
- Sustainable Energy projects - replacing non-renewable fuel sources such as oil, coal and natural gas with renewable energy such as wind and hydro-power
- Energy Efficiency projects - helping people around the world use energy more efficiently and funding projects aimed at developing energy efficient processes
